Bernalillo police looking for hit-and-run driver that killed juvenile pedestrian

The Bernalillo Police Department is looking for information regarding the death of a juvenile pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run last month.

BERNALILLO — The Bernalillo Police Department is still trying to find the vehicle connected with the fatal hit-and-run that occurred just before 1 a.m. Nov. 29, 2024.

BPD is looking for a red Dodge Ram 1500, possibly a model from 2019-24. They suspect the vehicle has heavy damage to the front grill passenger headlamp, hood and passenger side. Various pieces of the truck were also collected at the scene, including an emblem, grille pieces, and pieces of the headlamp.

A Jan. 7 release on the continued search also states that the Dodge was seen on surveillance camera driving east on Avenida Bernalillo, where it struck a pedestrian. It then continued south on I-25 from Exit 240.

The juvenile killed in the incident was 15-year-old Isaac Herrera, who was reportedly walking his sister to a friend's house. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
