Albuquerque man arrested for trafficking fentanyl in Bernalillo

BERNALILLO — Bernalillo police arrested a man for trafficking fentanyl before the Labor Day weekend.

Kevin Lambert, 32, of Albuquerque, was arrested Aug. 30 for trafficking a controlled substance in the 300 block of East Avenida Bernalillo. His driver, Ariele Pacheco, 36, of Albuquerque, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance during the same incident.

According to a criminal complaint filed by BPD, officer responded to a report of two men in a vehicle looking like they were “nodding out” and with the caller saying they were concerned they would drive like that.

Both Lambert and Pacheco allegedly tried to hide drug paraphernalia from police. Police located 20 blue pills they believed to be fentanyl in a purse and 135 pills in a Ziplock bag found between the seats. They also found a scale in the car.

Lambert could face up to 12 years in prison if he is convicted. Pacheco could face a year and a half if convicted.
