Jemez man sentenced for child sex abuse
JEMEZ — A Jemez man was sentenced Sept. 11 to 63 months in prison with no parole for sexually abusing two minors.
A release from the U.S. Department of Justice states Tyler Chinana, 35, an enrolled member of the Jemez Pueblo, engaged in unlawful sexual contact with a minor victim who was under the age of 12 in 2012.
In a separate incident in November 2022, Chinana engaged in similar unlawful sexual contact with a second minor victim who was also under the age of 12.
Chinana pled guilty to two counts of abusive sexual contact. Upon his release from prison, Chinana will be subject to 10 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
