County Animal Resource Center getting roadway and entrance as part of construction project
BERNALILLO — The Sandoval County Animal Resource Center slated for construction next year will get a new roadway and entrance for{span} access and to extend public utilities to the building site{/span}.
The Sandoval County Commission unanimously approved the agreement with Sparling Construction at the Nov. 13 general meeting.
The project price is $2,363,412.13 for the construction of a roadway and entrance, including utility extensions to the build site. The construction will include grading, roadway improvements, and sanitary and storm sewer, according the construction plans prepared by Huitt-Zollars.
Commissioner Katherine Bruch asked if the plan included wastewater utilities and was told it does. The Animal Resource Center also needs broadband as, which will be taken care of.
Commissioner Jay Block questioned if the construction company is located in Sandoval County. It’s not, and he was told that the county can’t discriminate who they hire based on location.
