New 2 You celebrates grand opening in Rio Rancho

New 2 You, a new thrift shop in Rio Rancho, celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday.

The Templeton family, owners of New 2 You, were joined by dozens of friends, family and local leaders, including Mayor Gregg Hull, Sandoval County Commission Chair Dave Heil and Rio Rancho Regional Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Jerry Schalow at the grand opening.

New 2 You is locally and veteran-owned and features house wear items, electronics, men's and women's clothing and offers a kids clothes exchange.

“We appreciate everybody's support and help with our endeavors,” co-owner Phillip Templeton said. “We look forward to servicing the community, not only through what's within our store, but what we can do for the benefit of through charities. We help with veterans in need, we help with the domestic violence victims through their charities and also the homeless. I'm trying to help out where we can, when we can.”

New 2 You was welcomed to Rio Rancho with thanks for their investment and hard work.

“I know how hard it is to run a small business, but I also know how rewarding it is to provide a service to your community and to interact with the people,” Hull said. “So on behalf of myself and the city council, we want to say thank you for your investment in Rio Rancho, thank you for your vision in Rio Rancho, thank you for your commitment in Rio Rancho, and we wish you all the best and and all the blessings that you can have in this new endeavor.”

The inventory at New 2 You is constantly changing, so customers are encouraged to keep coming back to see what’s new.

The chamber expressed support for the business's success.

“The chamber is here, the community is here, the city, the county, as you can see, look at all the support around you for your opening today,” Schalow said. “That's what we do here. We want to see you all succeed. So we look forward to great things, further expansion, further growth.”

New 2 You is located at 1594 Sara Road SE and is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
