Lisa Vornholt, director for the city of Rio Rancho's Public Works Department, is stepping down from her position with the city. Vornholt's last day with the city will be Nov. 1.
"It has been my honor and privilege to work for the city of Rio Rancho for the past seven years; however, I believe it's time for me to pursue new challenges and opportunities," said Vornholt.
City Manager James Jimenez has appointed City Engineer Scott Sensanbaugher to serve as acting Public Works director effective Nov. 2. Sensanbaugher, a licensed professional engineer, began his tenure with the city of Rio Rancho in 2001, and since that time has served in several different positions.
"I want to thank Lisa Vornholt for all of her work over the years, which has included overseeing two of the largest city departments," said Jimenez.
A search to find a permanent replacement for the Public Works director position will commence in the near future.
While at the city of Rio Rancho, Vornholt, a licensed professional engineer, served as operations and resources superintendent; director for the Cultural Enrichment Department (now known as the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department); and director for the Public Works Department since 2008.
