This fall’s flu-shot clinics sponsored by University of New Mexico Hospitals are on hold because manufacturing issues have delayed delivery of the vaccine.
The clinic slated for Saturday at the UNM Westside facility has been postponed. Other October clinics remain tentatively scheduled but could also be postponed, depending on vaccine supply.
UNMH expects to receive the vaccine in mid- to late October, said hospital Epidemiologist Dr. Meghan Brett.
Flu season typically ramps up in December and peaks later in the winter, “so even with the delayed delivery of the vaccine, there’s still plenty of time to get your flu shot,” Brett said.
UNMH will try to reschedule any postponed clinics. Visit hsc.unm.edu to find the updated schedule.
